THE STRENGTH OF THE LORD IN US

By His Spirit and the experience of it, He inspired Paul to document this truth:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Phil 4:13)

Indeed we are weak, and our weaknesses reside in our flesh. The spirit is always willing, but the flesh is weak. This state of affair results whenever the flesh dominates the spirit in us. We suffer because of these weaknesses. How? Our adversary is always on the look out to take advantage of our weaknesses. There is no way we can ever prosper in this state, because we are unable to do the 'work' that brings prosperity. We need strength to do work; to do all the work that we have to do; to do all things!

We need to go forward in the strength and power of the LORD to be free from the hold of our adversary via our weakness, and the way to achieve that is to nullify the dominion of our flesh over our spirits. When our spirits take dominion over our being, then the power of the LORD can flow through to transform us from the state of weakness to strength; it is then that we can be strong enough to do all the work! All things! It is then we can confidently say with Paul that we can do all things! Not some things but all things that will give us the opportunity to glorify the LORD in our being. And it is possible because with HIM all things are possible:

Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." (Mk 9:23)

Yes all things are possible to anyone who believes; and the kind of belief here is the one that comes by obedience. Obedience is active! We go on and do it! Not merely feeling it or having it in mind. Doing what? Keep on praying; praying without ceasing; asking the LORD to direct us to chart the right path in your daily living; refraining from all evil and all resemblances of evil; living and acting according to HIS word. By these things, we gain union with our LORD in the spirit; HE comes in to dwell with us by the power of HIS Spirit, and HIS Spirit takes control over our being. It is then that the power flows in to breakdown the stronghold of the flesh which is the source of our weaknesses; and then establishes the stronghold of the LORD which becomes our new source of positive strength. This new strength is renewed day by day as we continue to live Christ day by day; it does not come from us, but from the LORD through the Christ. When we achieve that status, then we can say, in unison with Paul, that:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Phil 4:13)
